Bulawayo is Zimbabwe’s second largest city with a population of about 1, 5 million people. The City of Bulawayo was originally the home of King Lobengula, the last of the Matebele Kings. The city attained town status on 1June 1894 and had its first Municipal Council of 9 elected members in November 1897. The city attained city status in 1943.With over a million people in the city, providing social services timeously can be a challenge. Fix My City” will help the Bulawayo City Council to react fast to service delivery challenges and it will also allow residents actively participate in finding solutions to the challenges faced by the city.
Fix My City provides a platform where residents can report any problem to the local authority without having to visit council offices. These could be a broken street light, burst water pipe, illegal dump site etc. The platform gives an opportunity to residents and the local authority to collaborate in solving the challenges bedevilling the city.
